Comey on Clinton email probe: ‘Don’t call us weasels’ … The normally-stoic FBI chief grew emotional as he rejected claims that the FBI was in the tank for Clinton.

James Comey appeared today before the House Judiciary Committee to answer questions about the FBI’s decision not to recommend prosecution of Hillary Clinton regarding misuse of classified emails – and in the process told members that once the politics stopped circulating, the FBI would again be seen as the institution “you know and love.”

This hyperbolic statement certainly set the tone for the larger hearing which saw Comey testifying with unusual emotionalism, adding at one point that people ought not to see those involved in the decision as “weasels.”

“You can call us wrong, but don’t call us weasels. We are not weasels,” he said. “We are honest people and….whether or not you agree with the result, this was done the way you want it to be done.”

Despite Hillary’s destruction of various phones with hammers (to mention only one issue), he spent several hours insisting, often querulously, that there was no evidence that she intended to obstruct justice or to hide evidence. His statements were mostly a repetition of already presented justifications. As they made little sense previously, they added neither clarity nor insight.

Republican congressmen – many of whom were increasingly incredulous – pressed him in startling ways. Several virtually demanded he reopen the case and others told him bluntly that “you blew it.”

“I would be in big trouble and I should be in big trouble if I did something like that,” said Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.). “There seems to be different strokes for different folks. I think there’s a heavy hand coming from someplace else.”

When Rep. Ratcliffe from Texas questioned Director Comey today, he listed all the many times that evidence was electronically deleted or destroyed, included material under subpoena. Ratcliffe said, "this screams obstruction of justice."

The the answer he got from Comey, after listing the destruction of evidence, was, "To ignore that which we don't have . . . we live in a fact-based world . . . so it's hard for me to react to these things you don't have . . . so that's my reaction to it." I think that what we've seen only in the last few days is enough to justify impeaching Comey, and I don't state that lightly. Huma Abedin clearly perjured herself and nobody even followed up. The evidence of a deliberate destruction of evidence was so ubiquitous that a junior detective could have built an open-and-shut case. The existence of the server and the fact that it held classified information are undeniable. And the FBI did nothing.

Congress needs to do something about the FBI now, something serious, no more showboating or Kabuki dancing, no more throwing up of the hands in defeat. The FBI has failed in its function and the oversight committee is failing in its as well. The country is seething with anger at an entire political establishment that is failing to meet any needs but its own. The media are doing their best to sweep this under the rug, but we're six weeks from an election and every seat in the House is up for grabs and somebody there had better start paying attention.

Oh, nobody trusts him anymore. He is a sleaze and I expect him to be driven from Law Enforcement if Trump gets in. However, if Hillary gets in, they will keep him on as long as they like.

Comey has said that she is guilty in so many words, but he cannot do anything for fear of his life, his families lives...

Do I agree with this? NO, but I do understand this...this is how the Mafia works...you talk, you die, your wife dies, your children die, your mother or father or sister or brother dies, your house burns down, something that is very scary...

Right now there is nothing we can do, our hands are tied also, our House and Senate are worthless because they let themselves get involved with the Clinton Mafia...so all we can do is vote for Trump on Nov. 8th and support him in what he wants to do to clean out Washington D.C. sewer pit...
