In one of the cited cases a witness was ordered to appear with his files etc - a subpoena duces tecum was issued - and the files were destroyed. In another case a witness ignored subpoenas and repeatedly failed to appear. In both the witness was found in contempt and imprisoned.

Destruction of materiel under subpoena, failure to appear... just like the current situation. The only difference is now the weasels in Congress shirk their duty and attempt to pass it off to an Executive agency.

Ray,
This data should be posted as a vanity with a title like “ Congress authority to imprison for obstruction, contempt”.
After Trump is elected I think this is a partial way around Obama’s pending mass presidential pardons. To uncover the extent of corruption and refer 3-5 thousand cases for CRIMINAL prosecution by Giuliani in the new justice department. Restoring honor to the FBI and our criminal justice system.

Congress needs to recapture their constitutional authorities and oversight responsibilities.
