Yep that makes sense. IF Hillary was wearing an earpiece you can bet it would not be a cheap one. She was Secretary of State and needed them to listen to translators. So she would have state of the art gear. IF she wears them I think they would be for coaching and not providing her detailed answers. Hillary doesn't need them. She has been spewing the same garbage for 30 years. She could do it in her sleep.
It’s pretty obvious they’re both wearing body microphones. But why the need to also have direct wired microphones at the lectures? And the mics at the lecterns were way better mics. I find it hard to believe this is some kind of audio, “backup”
I concur that it is the battery pack for the lapel mic. I was being interviewed once and had one on. The cord went under my shirt to the pack on my waist. Fortunately, no one could see that I had to have my shirt tail pulled out for the battery pack to clip to my belt.
