Had a black friend who thought of Amos & Andy as hilariously funny. Don’t remember it, but I was always told that it was racist, so my friend’s attitude surprised me. I’ll give it a look sometime.

It was in reruns for years until the NAACP complained, that’s how I can remember it. What made it funny was the characters, as with any other show. Most of it was pretty universal - e.g. I see a lot of the “Kingfisher” in Archie Bunker.

But yeah, check out the “Amos & Andy” documentary I linked to, it’s entertaining and informative.
