As an Internet-only guy I tend to miss things like television-face critiques, and so I was astonished to hear the conversation going on in the back of the room at work this morning among some folks who are usually pretty liberal. I don't recall a single policy point mentioned, only how bad Her Heinous looked and how phony and overbearing and condescending she came across. One of the ladies offered the defense that she had to do that to compete with an alpha-male type and another replied, "if my boss did that to me I'd slap her face." Whoa.

She also said that Trump came across as the sort of boss you could talk to, (which he does because that's what he is). And the consensus was that he'd won the debate. These were liberals.

Mind you, this is not the sort of analysis we usually indulge in on FR nor is it the sort of thing that comes out of most pundits' mouths, although the PR guy who is the author of this piece is definitely referring to it. It is, however, in common currency among voters. Very interesting reactions I'm seeing, not at all what I expected.

Ah - I’m an idiot, the author is a woman. That makes a lot of sense given what I heard. Mea culpa.
