According to Dr. Noel on Vidette, the earpiece is a medical prothesis used by people with neurodegenerative issues. It increases ambient background noise, causing the normally soft-spoken patient to speak louder. It would likely be allowed, just like a hearing aid, pacemaker or eyeglasses.

He also covered the issue of the so-called Diazapam pen. Says it is like a laser pointer. Seems people with Parkinson’s can *unstick* a *frozen* foot and walk forward when they have a target to concentrate on. It, too, would be classified as an “adaptive aid”. There are walkers and canes with built in laser lights just for this problem.
