Charlotte victims gun was either in condition zero or condition one. Both of these conditions mean he was ready to rock and roll. The only difference between 0 and 1 is 0 means he already had the safety off. Unbelievable the media has not pointed out the alleged firearm with cocked and ready to go.
Ah, excellent response - thank you.
So it was Jeff Cooper who said this. Jeff is a SAO master, making his training and work in the field 1911-centric.
While not staying exclusive to the 1911 his ideas on carry status are tailored for that gun (Beavertail safety, hammer back in carry)
The method doesn’t jive well for the Sig or Browning SA/DA designs.
Like taking advice from Ayoob. His advice is sound, he is a world-reknowned pro. But his attention is on the revolver. Doesn’t make him a fool with the semi, but most of this train of thought is based on the revolver.
Same here with my DA CZ 97. Too many accidental discharges with the Glock.
(OK, here we go ... btw I have a Glock)
SouthNarc: That a stock Commander?
Me: Yeah.
SouthNarc: It runs, man.
If you don't know who SouthNarc is, look him up.
Colt 380 Mustang makes it a lot less likely to be a throwdown gun. A Jennings or Bryco? More likely. Even a Taurus. But THIS?
No, this is not a throwdown gun.
These modes work with my Browning hi-power, which of course is SA.
Jeff was a fan of the CZ 75, which is DA/SA, though he was not a fan of 9mm. He helped with the Bren 10, which is a CZ derivative in 10mm. The CZ 75 can be carried decocked (DA first shot) or cocked and locked (SA).

Nope, won’t go there. Only thing I’ll say is that the most important”safety” is between the ears.

Yer tryin to start a fight, ain’t ya. lol
“the most importantsafety is between the ears.”
Agree in principle, but I’m thinking of the Tulsa woman police officer (?) who may have triggered due to the sound of the tazer.
Even with training, who knows what happens when the adrenaline and tunnel vision kicks in?
When I’m wide awake I love my Gl 19 in my end table, nice smooth trigger.
And my S&W Sigma .40 by my bed because it has a trigger like gas pump handle. You really have to mean it. :-)
There was a good article in the Blue Press about carrying with an empty chamber, can’t find it but found this:

Rethinking appendix carry though the thought of a .45 pointed at my groinoclogical region makes me wince.
Actually, I think I started it. Not really meaning to, but I knew it would.
“After review by the officials”... I think you are right. It is a Colt.
I have to amuse myself somehow.
Who’s gun? Do you mean the bad guy’s gun? The guy that wouldn’t drop it when told to do so ,repeatedly, by the police? Terrible what passes for journalism nowadays....
You guys are evil.
I like that in a person.
I carry condition 1. I grew up thinking all gun had to be condition 10. Gun empty iand locked one room and the ammo locked up in another. It truly was a different world back then. My father didn’t own a pair of stol until I gave him one.
Most of my house guns are condition 1. Shotgun in the closet, pistols in night stand, AR at the front door, .22 for varmet are all condition 1. Grandkids will be a change agent to that.
One of the gun channels on youtube has an article titled “Appendix carry: because who really needs 2 testicles?”
LOL
