I’ve watching clips of Trump on Letterman over the years. The poise and clarity in his voice is remarkable even back in 1988. The audiences applaud loudly when he arrives, and the most important thing, is that he knows about the world.

Trump is actually looking forward to the debate. He will be in his element. On the other hand, Crooked Hillary is dreading tomorrow night and looking to get it over with. She's looking to survive while Trump looks to thrive.

I've been watching debates for years and the "policy wonks" do the worst. The voters at home don't like "smarty pants" types who sound like they are reading verbatim from policy papers. When you are running for president, it doesn't matter if you are an expert on the issues. You are going to have underlings for that. In 1988, Mike Dukakis prepped and prepped for those debates. He was perhaps more up on the issues than even Vice President George Bush. But in the debates, his clinical and "perfect" responses did not play well at all.

What people look for in a president is a confident and authoritative personality with human warmth and a sense of humor. Somebody who can suck out the oxygen and take command of any room he/she enters. Ronald Reagan had it. JFK had it. Donald Trump has it in spades.

I think you’re right. In the primaries, Cruz and Rubio could recite policy every debate, but it sounded rehearsed and disingenuous. The memorable moments were when they got out of that mode. Trump came across as real, warm, and authoritative.

I don’t think she will try to come across as a policy wonk, although I could be wrong. If she does, she will screech and yell it, and it will play even less than Dukakis. I think she will call Trump a liar and every other name she can think of, and try to make it stick.

If she starts screeching insults in that angry, strident voice, she loses. I’m sure he’s going to be prepared for that and expecting it, and won’t lose his cool. He’ll even try to bring it on. He WILL fight back, though, we know that.

I think that the reason is that the "policy wonks" have their program all laid out...spend a lot of time going through the details to get to the final conclusion...

....that is present all the data first then the conclusion.

Trump on the other hand comes out with the conclusion first

Build the wall

Repeal and replace Obamacare

Cancel Common Core

Repeal the Johnson amendment

Take care of our VETS

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

Reduce taxes by a lot

Etc....

And whatever objections the MSM Dims etc raise....he has the instant answer...

Can you believe the huge headline on the LA Times today is SCOPE OF TRUMP’S LIES UNMATCHED.

How do they even have the gall to print this? They pick on tiny things like Trump saying “The US has the worst rate of X” and find that Duckfishistan has more. This is what they are contrasting to

HILLARY AND THE PRESIDENT OPENLY CONSPIRE AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO SELL OUR SOVEREIGNTY AND STATE SECRETS FOR PERSONAL CASH.

How do they dare? My mother with Alzheimer’s insists on seeing this fish wrap for 10 minutes a day and so we are actually paying for this trash.

Trump as so many options. I hope he remains up beat and happy and smiles a lot. He doesn’t really need to attack her at all. Just point out the differences.

I would think the best person to practice debating would be to have Kellyanne or Judge Janeen acting as Hillary.
