So good morning yon ladies and gems, good morning AB and, as always, thank you so very much for doing this thread every week so reliably. Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom and thank you yon commenters for fleshing it all out for me.

Today we briefly go over the Diane Feinstein saga, a little kitten update but most important, and keeping with topic, Hillary and the Coumadin.

First, Diane Feinstein’s well went dry. Goodness it was only a 25 foot deep thing, Billy and I had a shallow well like that and it went dry too. People should not have 25 foot wells filled with sand and crickets.

I was suspicious that the well was dry but Feinstein, she wants things to be the way that SHE wants them, including my suspicion that her live in mate is addicted to painkillers but alas, another story, another day.

At any rate, Diane Feinstein has been spending a lot of time at my house, washing clothes and her hair as for now going on two weeks she’s had no water. NO WATER!!!

Now I don’t mind, it’s been really great, she comes over, we play with the animals. Diane Feinstein took care of my pets while I was in the hospital, more on this later. We do watch Fox when she’s over and Diane Feinstein is learning a thing or two about politics although she’s still a registered Democrat…..boo.

I’ll ask how the water situation’s going and she shrugs, tells me Joe-her friend-worked on but he’s taking a nap now.

Man if I had no water BILLY WOULD NOT BE NAPPING UNTIL WE HAD SOME!!!!

Finally after a couple of weeks of this, and now that it does appear that the well did, indeed, go dry, I finally told her, gently, that she needs to WAKE JOE UP!

Anyway, I do enjoy her company but I know she’s miserable with no water, who wouldn’t be?

As for the kitten, God bless. All my friends tell me I needed a new love in my life but I was thinking more like a HUMAN MALE for God’s sake, not a kitten! I already got two cats and two dogs, why I need another kitten?

And yet me and that kitten have bonded like you would not believe. She’s always by my side, goodness her name is Shadow, because first she’s all gray and also that she is, ahem, my Shadow. Dogs and other cats love her and she thinks this is her house. Kitten gets spooked whenever Diane Feinstein is around although we both look alike, Shadow sure knows the difference.

Now about me, Hillary and the Coumadin.

First, good news! I GOT MY LEGS BACK!!! I been walking and exercising at the gym and I’d say my movement ability has improved by 70-75% because of this stent. And I told everybody at the hospital, everybody at my cardiac clinic, everybody on Facebook. It’s so nice to be able to walk again. No, it’s not perfect but I am quite happy with the result.

Now when I was in the hospital they discovered I had a bad case of AFIB and blood pressure off the wall so I got put on Coumadin and my blood pressure dosage was quadrupled.

And guess what? I feel pretty good.

Don’t know if y’all know anything about Coumadin but it’s a very serious drug. It’s so serious, hand to God, you can’t even eat KALE with the stuff.

Coumadin prevents clots. It does NOT break up existing clots and this is important as regards Hillary. Evidently a heart with AFIB is more prone to throw clots. Coumadin removes vitamin K from the blood, vitamin K being what causes blood to clot.

Hillary is also on Coumadin and this is not a medicine to take lightly. They must take a reading every few weeks if not more often to determine that internal bleeding is a danger.

“Watch that your gums don’t bleed,” the nurse-practitioner told me, “also check for tarry stools”.

Man I was freaked out with these instructions. Now I read an article about Coumadin by Hillary’s doctor who declared she prescribed Coumadin for the Sec of State to help dissolve that blood clot she had under her skull.

The writer of the article declared this a blatant, that Coumadin does NOT break up blood clots though it does prevent future ones.

“Any woman put on a lifetime of Coumadin is NOT a healthy, hale human being ready to lead the free world,” I paraphrase the writer and I am dumbfounded.

Because yes I did get my legs back, but thanks to Hillary I learned all about Coumadin and I now know I am not healthy enough to lead the free world.

Which is fine with me but folks, Hillary is way worse shape than me. I have never passed out, my eyes don’t go all over my head, I have not broken into a cough I can’t stop. And don’t forget I had a quadruple bypass almost ten years ago.

AND I AM HEALTHIER THAN HILLARY!!!

That’s all folks. This story with Hillary and the Coumadin happening the same time I’m getting some is almost serendipity.

But I do know first hand how very serious that woman’s health issues are.

I have been on Coumadin (Warfarin) for 4 years on a permanent basis, after my 2nd blood clot in 5 years. First doctor; no dark green leafy vegetables, no cranberries. (No cranberry sauce? Might as well cancel Thanksgiving...)

Switched doctors after I moved. No dark green leafy vegetables, no products including peanut oil, including peanuts. But, cranberries are okay.

And when you are on Warfarin/Coumadin, you need to get an INR at least once a month, so the doctor can monitor your levels. (either 2.0 to 3.0, OR 1.8 to 3.5 depending on who you talk to in the doctor's office.) If the test results fall outside the acceptable range; too high or too low, test again in 2 weeks, not 4 weeks.

I travel a lot for my employer, and the last several months my INR score was all over the board. So I talked to the Hematology expert on the doctor's staff about switching to another medication that does not require testing.

Net result; I am on a medication developed recently, instead of Warfarin (developed in the 1940's), and there is no special testing, and no food restrictions.

I do have to pay out of pocket for the new medication, whereas the Warfarin/Cumadin was no charge, and my Blue Cross Blue Shield plans pays a lot more. The expert I talked to before I switched indicated that the profession expects to get out of Coumadin in the next few years for blood clots, because there is too much overhead associated with it.

So why is Hillary on a medication that is being phased out ASAP? There is very limited advantage for Cumadin other than cost, since it has pretty much gone generic. And it requires diet restrictions and frequent testing. There is another reason Hillary is using that, because I refuse to believe that she is trying to save money with the generic.
