Perhaps Charlotte Metropolitan Police Dept?

It is Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. I’m not sure why, because there is a Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department, and cities such as Pineville, Matthew, and Huntersville have their own police departments.

Very odd. Usually a Police Department is named after the city. I guess using "Metro" makes small towns seem big!☺
