Skagit and Whatcom counties are very, very white. The chief minority is so-called Native American. There is a Mexican presence, as you would expect on the West Coast. Few blacks, a lot of Asians and quite a few people from India, particularly Sikhs.

The last mass shooting was in adjacent Snohomish County at a high school on an Indian reservation. Might be something to do with our Native Americans.
