“I am not up to date on this issue-— If Obama transfers control, then it is possible that the net could be censored by foreign countries?”

Not just possible, it’s the goal.

I believe the goal is to limit our ability to organize and resist when a Marxist dictatorship is imposed.

We are heading toward Real-Name registration for Internet use, just as in place in China, Russia and South Korea.

If ICANN does leave American control and falls under Chinese jurisdiction as developments indicate, then we can be sure we’ll see actions to limit Internet free speech and user anonymity.

The good news is that we’ll finally learn each others real names on this forum.

Wow, I was not aware of all this!! Scary stuff to which no one is paying attention!

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT CHINA IN CHARGE OF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS?!?!? They have no respect for human rights?!?!

Eh as far as recognizing Freepers, would rather do that at a local meet and greet or Freeper Inaugural event ;)

Bingo...That happened in Iran 7 years ago—when the students were demonstrating against the Ayatollahs for democratic reforms. The government shut down internet or hunted down the demonstrators using it.

That is why they went to using Twitter as way to communicate—I went to Twitter then, too, as there was a complete US media blackout on the subject!

Transferring Internet control is limited government...

Actually it is “World Government”.

That would be the exact opposite of “Limited Government”.

But thanks, Baracko, for Lib-splaining.

Sorry, with all due respect, I still don’t get your issue?! You are not clear...

Eh, this thread is not about cruise ship ports anyway...not sure why people are posting about them here.

As I said, you are not making any sense...”PORT!!!” PORT? So what about it?

http://www.bizjournals.com/orlando/morning_call/2015/06/see-which-florida-cruise-ports-are-among-the.html

Port Canaveral, along with Miami and Port Everglades were among the top three cruise ports in the world, according to the 2015-2016 Cruise Industry News Annual Report.

Miami came in at No. 1, with 4.8 million passengers, followed by Port Canaveral with 3.9 million and Port Everglades with 3.4 million.

Since I don’t understand your issue with “PORT!!!” I will suggest that perhaps you can take a moment to read about the topic of this thread, the Internet Transfer set to occur THIS WEEK and call or email your Congressman and Senators.

Sorry, I have to admitting I was wrong!

As a former Merchant Mariner AND later working in the Port of Port Everglades, I always thought it was the second largest Cruise Ship Port!!

I should have done a better research before I jumped on bushwon, sorry. NEVER thought that Port Canaveral would out perform Port Everglades, but looks it did and I was WRONG !!!
