There was a clean sweep of the long time writers and editors at the Inquirer. They brought in USA Today types to run a skeleton crew. Most of their content is purchased from the national news services. The daily edition is very small these days. Like a flier for a grocery store. Not very relevant in Cincinnati anymore. Especially in the suburbs and surrounding counties.
The same thing happened to the Indianapolis Star about 10-15 years ago. The Star was once a reliably conservative paper, but was bought out by Gannett. The whole staff was purged and now it’s just another leftist rag. If Gannett bought the Enquirer, its now no more conservative than the New York Times.
