It doesn’t say Longoria is going to be in the show. It says it’s being produced by the same people who are producing another show she is in. At least that’s how I read it. It doesn’t sound like they’ve picked the lead actress yet.

Whether it works or not will just depend on whether it’s good show in it’s own right.

Most of these remakes/reboots, what have you, turn out to be ghastly to execrable. I’ve seen ads for the MacGyver reboot, and to call it horrid would be an understatement. Some insufferable blonde, femme-looking twat hanging from the underside of an airplane ? Yeah, that’s about as far from Richard Dean Anderson’s dignified portrayal as you can get. I predict a swift, merciful death.

I read it that Longoria’s company is partnering with another company to produce the series:
It says:
“The project, from Leverage creator John Rogers and Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment,”

Longoria apparently owns a company named after herself UnbeliEVAble Entertainment. The success or failure will either hurt or help the further development of her company.
