Local opinion here: Lots of talk about Saturday. There are two ways it can go- the HEAT and inherent’ party’ mentality will result in a small turnout. Or it will get real ugly and there will be lots of outside organizers and agitators who will make sure it becomes Charlotte. It’s not just about statues and symbolism-Jackson hasn’t offended local blacks into violence until now. Look at where-not what- it is. The Frenh Quarter, economic lifeblood of N.O.,tourism, white owned businesses, symbol of white control of a black city. If a confrontation gets out of hand the REAL goal is to trash the Quarter. Loot the shops, send tourists running home, maybe occupy the Cathedral. Anarchy. Ruin the brand, get on the news. You kill the Vieux Carre tourism in New Orleans vanishes and the city becomes a black run, owned and controlled Chicago. Oh- and there are WHITE liberal/socialist types involved in this statue business, but BLM has announced it will be in control. Stay tuned. If they can stir up lazy locals in this heat and import hardcore BLM types we could see international news Saturday morning. No one I know- except a nephew who is a city Paramedic and will probably be in the thick of it-is going anywhere near Orleans parish.
