Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg will spend $3 billion to fight diseases and make "a better future for our children and generations to come," he wrote in a Facebook post.
Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla will spend $3 billion to fight all diseases through the Chan Zuckberg Inititiave, he announced on Wednesday at an event in San Francisco that was live streamed on Facebook.
The couple has talked to "dozens of top scientists" who think it's possible to "cure, prevent or manage all diseases by the end of this century," Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post. "That doesn't mean no one will ever get sick, but it does mean that we'll get sick a lot less and that when we do, we'll always be able to identify and treat the problem, or at least manage it as a non-harmful condition."
Priscilla, who works as a pediatrician, will help spearhead the efforts, Fox Business' Ashley Webster noted on Thursday morning's "Varney & Company."

Publicity stunts. $3 billion is a drop in the ocean when it comes to treating illness and disease.
All of the kiddies will be impressed with magnanimous Zuck. Also reinforces the idea that money is all that is needed to cure disease.
If they’re so worried about mange, wouldn’t it be better if his wife was a veterinarian instead of a pediatrician?

If,tomorrow,Zuckerberg,Gates and Soros (just to name three multi-billionaires) were to give all but $10 million of their net worth and all but $500K/yr of their income (*every* year) to *real* charities (food and medical care to Africa,for example) I would consider that *very* noteworthy and *very* admirable.Anything less than that,from people like that,is just window dressing...just PR.
But then we'll have to figure out how to kill all those millions saved since they will cause even more global warming.

Mark Zuckerberg is a liberal/progressive who travels with those of like minds...he’s also a Globalist. Not unusual ‘nation leaders’ get him to willingly ‘bend’ to their demands. He’s a willing participant and a “pay to play” individual..
Universal Health is on their agenda...so it makes sense he’d contribute something to mask the real intent of the revenue flows that will come into coffers when Universal Health Care is the “norm” world wide.
