A Sikh bar owner in the US is being hailed as a hero for helping capture the 28-year old Afghan-American wanted for the weekend bombings in New York and New Jersey.

Harinder Bains, the owner of a bar in Linden found Ahmad Khan Rahami sleeping in the doorway of his bar on Monday.

Bains said he was watching news on TV on his laptop from another business across the street.

At first, he thought he was some "drunk guy" resting in the vestibule but then recognised Rahami and called police.

"I'm just a regular citizen doing what every citizen should do. Cops are the real heroes, law enforcement are the real heroes," Bains told. ..... < skip >

Indian-American attorney Ravi Batra told PTI that Bains "dared to honour his Oath of Citizenship to protect & defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic..." ..... < skip >

"He heroically helped save many innocent lives and yet gave credit to law enforcement officers. Harinder Bains certainly did what every responsible citizen in America ought to do. Brave and courageous act!" said the National Sikh Campaign. ..... < skip >

A Sikh regiment is the most decorated regiment in the Indian army, think that dates back to the pre-British Indian army.

Check out how seriously a Sikh soldier takes duty.

The Sikhs wear very colorful and stylish turbans. The unshorn hair custom is something that needs change, however.

Sikhs MUST have the following five "K" things:

The five Ks are:

1. Kesh (uncut hair)

2. Kara (a steel bracelet)

3. Kanga (a wooden comb)

4. Kaccha - also spelt, Kachh, Kachera (cotton underwear)

5. Kirpan (steel sword)

I wonder who checks the undies...:o)
The steel sword NOW is usually a miniature of about an inch...just for show their faith.

I know all this and believe it 100%.
The British HIRED Sikhs to fight for them. The Sikhs were FEARLESS.
The Sikhs are the civilian police as well.

We have many, many people in the US who consider Sikhs “Ayrabs”.

It is important to educate them on the distinction so that they are not unjustly targeted.

” I think LE took over 80 shots at the boat.”

Did the cops replace his boat or just give him some epoxy and patches?

Since the greater majority of Sikhs in the US are hardworking, law abiding citizens, the mainstream media isn’t interested in them.

It’s call “liberal media bias” (LMB) (aka “Lots of Media Bias).

I meet Sikhs often in my work, and they have all been hardworking and respectful, yet the youngest are showing signs of the less desirable traits of modern America. The media, schools, and government ridicule the traditional family values which the Sikhs have in common with conservative Americans. I have also been dismayed and exasperated by those who insist “all towelheads are the same”.

I think LE took over 80 shots at the boat....and still didn’t kill him.

Twas a strange day. Helicopters circled overhead a half mile away all morning into the early afternoon. An entire city and surrounding towns were told to remain indoors. Then the helicopters stopped. The hunt was still on. Late afternoon the volley of pistol rounds signaled they found him.

The one cop shot in the manhunt was shot by another cop. You would think the police would come up with a better plan than sending thousands of cops after two desperados by training a few scores of cops to track and hunt fleeing armed criminals. Instead they used gestapo tactics on the citizens and found nothing. it took the citizen boat owner to find him.

There have been several attempts to raise a Sikh regiment in the modern British army.

This is from last year.
Don’t know how It’s doing now.

The turban WOULD fit under those huge fuzzy hats.
But, the Sikh would be a fish out of water in Britain, not wanted by the Brit women and not trusted by the Brit men.

The Indian women in the U.K. wouldn't be interested in them either. In essence, I think, the male Sikhs in the U.K. have pigeonholed themselves into a very small sphere.

They belong in Indian, in the Punjab. End of story.

I’ve been saying since early on after 9/11 that the US should have recruited a Sikh regiment similar to how the British had Gurkhas. The Sikhs have no love lost for out of control Muslims.
