A friend of mine is a retired female fire fighter. She knew that she couldn’t handle the hoses and ladders and would be an impediment. Most of her career was as a trainer, support and Paramedic...by design.
Female police officers are at a decided disadvantage, especially as they get older. My local department has a lady on the force who must be in her late 50’s. I see her often on guard duty at the library and don’t know if she patrols at all. I would hope not, for her sake. A 17 year old feral would run right through her.

Good thing men don’t want those kind of jobs when they get tired of the hoses and ladders....or perhaps get injured from the hoses and ladders.
