Still having blue screen level problems with the puter. It is about 6 years old and not worth a trip to the doc. Just ordered a ASUS Chromebook. Should be able to do what I want with Google drive and related software....

I've been having really good luck with Thinkpad T420 and X201 from ebay. $200 tops (I usually wait for a deal, under $120 if I can). The machines are common, and have a good reputation for durability. I've got several for several yesrs, no trouble. In cotrast to HP nc6000, never had one that did not have a problem.

i can afford to do it on the cheap becuase I have a good working knowledge of computer build, repair - understand why a person would prefer to buy a new computer. Just tossing out my experience, don't take it as a "you ought to do this" suggestion!
