Many years ago I learned a little Farsi or Persian. Thing is, Farsi is essentially genderless. He, she, & it are all expressed by the pronoun ‘e’. I remember when the push for genderless English was started that the reason we are trapped in our gender roles is because of the language. Made sense to people who didn’t know better. By their logic, the women of Iran and Afghanistan should be the most equal in the world.
