This is similar to the enslaved countries of Eastern Europe when they were under Soviet control and they would make up an “opposition” party for Parliament. It would be called the “Peasants Party” or some similar title, would be allowed to get 1 to 5 percent of the vote while the Communists would get 95-99 percent and thy would give them a few seats in the Parliament where they would be deliberately ineffectual. Their “opposition” would consist of things such as encouraging a higher quota than the Reds insisted on for agricultural production. In other words, they were about as “conservative” as Jennifer Rubin.
