Hundreds of thousands of Germans took to the streets Saturday, in protest of pending trade deals with the United States and Canada.
The deals in question are the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the U.S. and the European Union and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) for the Canadian-EU relationship. Neither free trade agreement has been ratified yet, but popular outcry has been growing for the last few years.
The demonstrations took place in seven cities throughout Germany: Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart. Organizers told CNBC that the official estimate is 320,000 demonstrators across Germany.
In Berlin, where discussions of trade policy are frequently overheard in cafes and most available surfaces are plastered in posters and stickers against the deals, the largest demonstration of the day took place with about 70,000 attendees, according to the organizers.

You know how to use Google, but can’t find the text of the TPP? Good grief.
320,000? Now that’s a damn protest.
Wish we could muster these sort of numbers on the capital steps and or surrounding the fence of the white house.
We want our government back!
My position was, let the voters decide.
Uh huh, sure rudy.
Piss off, drag queen.
As for your weak question, are you suggesting people in the U.S. and beyond support anything Obama does or supports? Really?
No, sweetheart. Just seeing a fair amount of “diversion” on your part, that’s all.
But again, please continue. You amuse me.
When a freetradeboy gets on a thread regarding trade, yes it becomes about you when you pretend you’re not a free trade hack. Or are you actually denying you support these country killing corrupt free trade policies?
But hey, I'm only a manufacturing worker . . . sometimes maybe I should shut my mouth and let some fatasses who've never worn steel-toed boots or gotten dirty tell me what is best for me.
It's what I said slick, you're a freetradeboy. It's no secret. You, Obama, Hillary and the rest of the corrupt insiders will be getting your free trade bell's rung good in the future.☺ It's a wonderful thing!
But thanks for the Marxist wishes . . . what do you really intend to do with us, when you finally get the opportunity? Do I have a chance of being "relocated" to a camp? Or do I simply get a bullet to the back of the head?
Maybe I should clarify. You pretended free trade was good for our country and Americans.☺ Like Hillary and Cruz, you have very bad judgement.
I suppose that is fair. Much like you are pretending that free trade is bad for our country. So we have that going for the two of us.
Incidentally, like Sanders and Buchanan. [chortle]
It seems the basket of deplorables is expanding to include millions of people in Germany. The adorable deplorables are rising all over the world. As Trump says this is a movement. Many have not seen this coming, but this election is essentially over and Trump wins with a 98% probability of success.

Hope you’re right about the election, but why don’t we see thousands of Deplorables out on the streets of America protesting this anti-American trade deal?
One can fit all of Europe in less than 1/3rd the size of the US. That makes it difficult to get large numbers to any specific rally.
We also work, and in this environment, we need to keep our jobs and not give bosses the opportunity to replace us.
I am not surprised you're still supporting these globalist free trade policies which are clearly looting Americans from every direction. You die hard Cruz fans never seem to admit anything, even when it becomes inordinately obvious. It's a pattern with the die hards. Amazing. Like in the corrupt primaries for example. These current free trade policies are economically gang banging millions of Americans while favoring globalist and foreign countries.
Ya ought to brace yourself for big changes coming up, changes which will favor and benefit Americans, not your good buddies in places like Mexico, China et al.
Looking sharp freetradeboy. See ya around.
