We let our 16 year old lab/aussie “Abby” go yesterday...she was in misery...could walk but nit stand. We are still mourning. She walked into the vets on her own...after we got her an ice cream cone at McDs
...but collapsed on the bed...I swear she wanted to die walking...she and I logged 10,000 miles in 10 years. I’m still hearing her feet on our wood floors. Didn’t know it would be this hard. She will be our last doggie. Can’t do that again at our age. (We have 2 cats). We may eventually babysit elder dogs...it’s hard to find care for them.
I knew it was over when he could kiss me this morning.

Sorry for the loss of your sweetie. Didn’t sound like she had much in the way of quality of life left, if she was hurting so much. Poor baby. She’s not suffering any more, and you can remember the good times you had with her.
