Are you going to wait a while?
After my first black and tan coonhound was stolen, I waited two years before getting another one. Even then, I felt like I was betraying him.
Now it’s good though, he’s a good hound, albeit a bit defective (he’s scared of cats).

I think most of have probably had a "soulmate pet" where the
memory/bond was so intense that it would be difficult to get
a "replacement". I love all critters, but I'm mostly
a cat guy. Still miss my dear critter, she was a
Tabby Maine Coon who came as a stray and was with
me for 17 years. Looked just like this one:
