How do residents insist that homes belonging to other residents not be shown to a couple that can easily afford them?
That is likely a big tale being told in the Bedford, Pound Ridge, and Katonah region.
No realtor is going to toss a commission to the wind because they're working with someone famous/infamous.

Well, any owner can take his/her home off the market at any time, no? And peer pressure might lead one to take one’s house off the market, might it not? And if a realtor wants commissions in the future, s/he will follow the wishes of the community s/he serves. I would imagine that was the unstated activity. The story goes back to ‘00.

These are VERY upscale and powerful communities. They probably just didn’t want the Arkansas Grifters moving in. Katonah, for instance, is already stuck with Martha Stewart and George Soros. Did they need more? Alas, neither Stewart nor Soros attracts the crowds, nor requires the special SS attention of the Clintons.

I don’t know that Katonah was so much a part of the opposition as was Bedford and Pound Ridge. Some years ago, Starbucks wanted to open a shop in Katonah. The “Masters of the Universe” who dwell there were having none of it. NO chains, whatsoever. And the townies won. You’ll not see a Starbucks within the village limits. Nor a Clinton.
