She is on blood thinners. When I was on them and went to a dentist have my teeth cleaned they asked me if I was on any medical prescriptions when I told them warfarin, they had to talk to my doctor before they would proceed.

*******************************

My oral surgeon (D.D.S.-M.D.) told me to stop taking the Warfarin just 72 hours before major oral surgery, 14 teeth surgically removed.

Just cleaning your teeth, which normally doesn’t result in bleeding should not be a problem and my dentist doesn’t ask me to stop the Warfarin before cleaning.

[Just cleaning your teeth, which normally doesn’t result in bleeding...]

In my case, they gave me what was probably a mild coagulant and come back in two hours.

I had just some minor bleeding.
