She had to lean against a bollard just to stand there waiting, when she attempted to walk her knees wouldn’t take it.

Blast from the past....the Poetess Sappho from the sixth century BC:

....my skin once soft is wrinkled now,

my hair once black has turned white.

My heart is heavy,

my knees that once danced nimbly like fawns cannot carry me.

How often I lament these things --- but what can be done?

No one who is human can escape old age.
