Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall got dropped by a sponsor for kneeling in protest during the national anthem.
Air Academy Federal Credit Union, which mostly serves members of the military and their families, announced on social media Friday that it was ending its five-month relationship with Marshall.

If minding your own business is not considered respectful, then we have enforced salutes which might as well be no salutes.
Someone kindly sent me the list of sponsors.
One of them is Marriott. That’s a two for one. Marriott came out in support of men in women’s bathrooms. They’re easy to boycott!
Athletes are overpaid circus clowns who need to be brought down a peg anyway.
The wouldn’t care if the fans walked out, after already paying for a ticket.
Having the stadium be half empty the following game, and that game having terrible TV ratings — now THAT they would care about.
ofc teams can fire players, they just drop them from the 53-man roster.
They may still be stuck with paying them, though, heh heh.
But teams should take a stand and make it clear that they will get rid of players at the first opportunity if they disrespect our flag and anthem.
In the short term, a simple team rule that you may not enter the field pre-game if you are unwilling to stand for the anthem and flag. Players like Kaeperdick can remain in the locker room until the moments before kickoff. That would sure take the wind out of their sails, since no one would notice their stupid protest.....
Good.
These people don’t seem to know which side their bread is buttered on.
Of course teams can release the players..
How about those that have elevated them removing their own supercilious pegs that they have the right to elevate anything over what God has already done so. Many comments can validly be made in mirrors.
Seattle Seahawks are you watching this unfold? I sure hope the Seahawks reconsider pulling a similar stunt tomorrow during their season opener on September 11th, no less.
“I have a friend who works in the NFL executive offices. He tells me that the league higher ups are very afraid that there will be some sort of in-game black vs. white incident(s). He also said that there have already been incidents in locker rooms and on the practice field that they have been able to keep the lid on, so far....”
I find it remarkable how much better race relations are in this country since Obama took office./s
.
These players have a ‘right to protest’ and so do we?
If I staged a protest at my workplace I would be fired, or at the very least directed to cease and desist and to do my protesting on my own time and away from work.
good,
Actions have consequences.
Hey Marshall, break a leg, chump.
Well, ditto with my own upbringing.
I STILL get a lump in my throat when I sing along...right about the "oer the la-a-a-and of the freeeeeee..." Snerf!!
[All they gotta’ do is NOTshow the sidelines during the national anthem.]
The networks, especially NBC, loves to show that stuff BUT there is another option to use and that’s to keep the teams OFF the field during the pre-game events.
They can watch it on locker room televisions and do their protesting in there.
That sure would. Why protest if there's no one to watch?
That SHOWS how shallow is their bogus protest. If they REALLY hated this country they would leave.
Hey, I'd pay their one-way ticket to Africa, Asia or any country south of our border. We would be INFINITELY better off without him or any of his ilk.
“These players have a right to protest and so do we.”
Shamefully, the only protest the American people have conducted has been to make Kaepernick’s jerseys the best seller in the NFL.
Nor do they say what needs to happen for them to quit protesting.
The solution to this is simple, in my mind. The teams should tell the players if they don’t want to participate in the National Anthem to stay in the locker room until it’s over. Employers should not be obligated to provide a platform for public protests.
However what one protests about shows ones worth.
That would be one way to solve the issue of conscientious objectors. Do it indoors all they please, but anyone who wants to salute can come out ahead of time. Their choice, but it ain’t a protest field, it’s a football field.
