The Latest: Trump Campaign Objects to 'Deplorable' Language
New York Times ^ | Sept. 10, 2016

Posted on 09/10/2016 8:28:42 AM PDT by Rennes Templar

Donald Trump's campaign manager is objecting to Hillary Clinton's depiction of half of his supporters as a "basket of deplorables."

Clinton was speaking at an LGBT fundraiser in New York City Friday night when she described those supporters as "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it." But she stressed that the rest of the Republican nominee's supporters are people who feel let down by the government and the economy and are "just desperate for change," and said those people need sympathy.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway quickly responded on Twitter, writing, "One day after promising to be aspirational & uplifting, Hillary insults millions of Americans."

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill tweeted that Clinton was referring to "alt-right" voters who "appear to make up half his crowd."

Mrs. Clinton's comments are not even factually supportable. They should be treated as the stream of consciousness of the candidate who recognizes that they are in a deteriorating position with the electorate--"people who vote for my opponent are all simply bad".

The factual record is that the Country has been run since 1963 by an elitist social and financial establishment for the benefit of its members. Nothing really racist, sexist, illiterate, or other particularly negative focus.

From the perspective as a member of the executive committee of the third largest law firm in the region, having participated directly for many years in ultimate hiring, promotion, and partnership decisions, I have had the opportunity to look carefully and specifically at many of these exact issues.

Facts are, we hired the first black associate in any of the top firms in the area. We hired the most women, well before women made up the majority of the top level pool of qualified applicants; and were the first to have a woman as one of our top most influential business partners.

And we looked at the academic and intellectual qualifications of our applicants equally carefully--where we found that the paper credentials of graduates of the well known bastions of Liberal academic thought were not supported by success in challenging academic competition nor even in the basic aptitude entry exams for the process.

We looked carefully at our failures in the process. Politically incorrect though it may be, the facts were that our failures all shared the same tendency to extreme establishment Liberal views as the modern media and press; and the "owe it to me" view of the political establishment that has run the country since 1963. They had all reached the entry gate through preferences available to supporters of the Liberal political establishment and not to others.

On the other hand, you look at the makeup of our national political governance and should be shocked at the level of inadequacy of the individual people you see.

Mrs. Clinton is a classic example. The product of an academic qualification process in which advance was facilitated by papers and views that mirror the establishment party line and oppose the fundamental cultural, legal, and free enterprise economic foundation of our country.

Her first record is flunking the bar and a bar complaint over her unethical practice record.

She went downhill from there to failures in every walk of her career and we all know generally what they are.

She did in fact have a job with a prominent local law firm where her support came from her ability to sell benefits from connections with her husbands political position. And she has made that the hallmark of her entire activity.

Slick Bill's complaint this morning about the attacks on his foundation hit the same mark. The complaint is not about the few beneficial programs and activities of the foundation--the complaint is that the foundation got its financial support when Mrs. Clinton sold access to political benefits to foreign adversaries of America in exchange for money given to the foundation.

And the further complaint is that the foundation uses the proceeds of those sales to support million dollar a year salaries to their unqualified daughter and others of their political supporters.

Look at the Establishment representatives in Congress. For the most part, none of these people have ever had a real job--the overwhelming majority of them have made their entire career getting money from public employment. For the most part, it is difficult to name anyone in the Congressional or Administration sector that anyone would hire for a demanding job position in the real world.

And the country for which they are responsible is in a mess. Our money is of suspect utility; our government is bankrupt in a balance sheet sense having liabilities of $20tril; our education system is failing, not because our children and our people are failing, but because the professional educators have organized unions to support getting the educators money at the expense of performance educating the children; our military is a shell of its former capability to defend the country and our country is under attack from across its boarders in any direction.

The true response to the Clinton's attack on America is to rely on the factual record; not name calling. Their position and that of the political establishment is indefensible by the measure of the rights and interest of the American people.

Donald Trump is correct when he says that this is our last chance to save the country through the electoral process--and at that, it may be too late.

>>The Deplorables vs the Deportables.<<

Cute, but a bad idea. Hillary has just singlehandedly derailed her campaign. There’s absolutely no need to supply her with the least bit of proof that she might have a point. Just stand back and watch her continue to self destruct.

On the other hand, right now I’d wear a campaign button around town that said “I’m Deplorable” just to see how people reacted. I’d probably carry a bag of extras if I did it because I’m pretty sure I’d find a demand for them. Her statement even has the potential to drag those assumed “shy Trump voters” out into the open.

Again, this is a crisis moment for the Hillary campaign and I’d expect Trump and his team to take full advantage of it. Expect to see statements from them along the lines of “Well, at least now the moderator at the first debate has an obvious first question for Hillary, i.e., ‘Ms. Clinton, could you explain how it is that you know that half the voters opposed to you are, as you put it recently, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and Islamophobic?’”

Let’s see her try to skate with something along the lines of “Just Rosie O’Donnell!” She’s toast.

Mike Pence, last night:
Hillary Clinton said last night at a big fundraiser in New York City that the American People, the millions of Americans that are supportive of my running mate, were described in the most deplorable terms.

She referred to those people as irredeemable.

Well, I tell you right now, I campaign on a regular basis with Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton's low opinion of the people who support this campaign should be denounced in the strongest possible terms.

The truth of the matter is, they're hard working Americans. Farmers. Coal miners. Teachers. Veterans. Members of the law enforcement community.

Let me just say from the bottom of my heart, Hillary, they are not a basket of anything. They are Americans and deserve your respect.

No one with a record of failure at home and abroad, no one with her avalanche of dishonesty and corruption and no one with that low opinion of the American people should ever be elected president of the United States of America.

We must decide here and now that Hillary Clinton will never be president.

It's a good start. Now lets hear Mr. Trump's version.

Trump can quickly and hilariously turn this around on Hillary. I posted on one of Laz's threads that Trump should have a lady singer get on stage with him and sing:

We're Deplorable
That's what we are
We're Deplorable
Tho' near or far

Wow, they are clinging to the alt right theme!

The number of people the Clintonistas say are alt right is absurd. You could not find a fraction of that number who can even define alt right.

I am convinced that the alt right is the left's Emanual Goldstein, of 1984 fame: a wildly publicized demon (whose existence is shrouded in rumor) upon which to focus their vitriol. Last night was the left's 2 minute hate, led by party leader Hillary.

I don’t watch Fox and Friends. I watch Fox Business, which is better. The little creep Leland Vitter just questioned Lt Gen Boykin on Trump saying he would shoot an Iranian boat out of the water. “General, do you think someone like this needs to be commander in chief, provoking countries”. Gen Boykin: Trump is a leader and and we’ve been without a little long enough”. I wish he had told pretty boy to take his ass down to the nearest recruiter and do his part instead of sitting on that ass criticizing a retired 3 star general for daring to support a real man for president. The general also reminded him of a few words Reagan had for Lebanon, something junior Vitter is to young to remember.
