The National Football League's 97th season may get off to a rocky start if the entire Seattle Seahawks team follows through on a threat to sit during the national anthem on Sunday, the 15-year anniversary of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks.

Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane has led the charge, but on Wednesday receiver Doug Baldwin said he may join his defensive teammate on the bench at the start of the game against the Miami Dolphins.

If they do this, I think it will have the reverse effect of what they think it will.

The libs have wanted football dead for quite some time. Its just too barbaric they say.

Now conservatives want it dead cause a few twits wearing uniforms want to grandstand.

End result.....another sport which allows “barbaric” play gone. Another field which bred men, and whom children could look up to, gone.

You all are being played by the left, and as usual the libs will get what they wannt all with the help of conservatives.

This is exactly how the left did the military in. Its barbaric, then turn people against it so the next generation will not look up to it. How many war heroes did we look up to post WWII? How many are looked up to today?

I am a football fanatic. Until now, I scheduled my Sundays around football. Not now. I’ll watch if I have nothing better to do. I turned the Denver game off when I saw that arrogant ignoramus take a knee. I have no enthusiasm for the game now.

I am curious to see how Bill Belichick handles this. I will be surprised if any of his players sit without being benched or fired.

If it happens spectators should simply stand & walk out after the National Anthem. Those watching on TV-change the channel—don't look back. Sure the tickets have been bought & paid for. But think of how much money will not be spent on food, drink, & souvenirs.

Maybe the NFL won't take a hit, but it will have a devastating effect on overall revenues.

Feminism is founded on envy of manly achievement. Since the feminists can't become men and do what men do, they either invade and dilute the areas which they can (law enforcement, military, and others) and eliminate the ones they can't.

What happens when the feminist "manhood is toxic" dogma becomes the default setting of the main culture, and little boys have nothing left to look up to?

The answers are in history. It's all happened before.

Yes you are missing the fact that Pete Carroll has more than one dimension, and knows the fan support is a big part of his team’s success. I am a big Seahawk fan and trust they will do the right thing. If they don’t I’ll come back here and eat my words.

“little boys have nothing left to look up to?

Exactly right! And look how many are lining up trying to destroy another. So very troubling.

This is a home game for Seattle. If the team does this I would LOVE to see the crowd all remove their Seahawks jerseys are root for the Dolphins. That would get management’s attention

This is only my opinion but I believe that truthers have
enough dimensions to qualify for Twilight Zone designation.
However, the relationship between head coaches and
management is different than the relationship between
players and management. That Carroll would follow the
management line is clearly plausible. But his truther
status still qualifies him as a whack job. And, you
don’t even have to sacrifice your love of the Seahawks
to accept that.

Boycott the Traitorous Teams who do not support America. Maybe its time to put football in its place. Players are paid too much and see as “heroes” to much of the time. Remember OJ! Don’t follow such teams—hit them where it hurts—in the Pocketbook! Don’t follow Football—or just College teams. Other sports out there—like European football, or maybe an American Sport like Baseball?

Why is it that those who believe that George Bush brought down the twin towers are called “truthers” but anyone who disputes the findings of the Warren Commission or who don’t think we really went to the moon are called “Conspiracy Theorists”?
