What are the grounds of the denial over trying to force him to experience training literally designed to get him to abandon his religion? This is a direct assault on his 1st Amendment right to religious freedom - bald-faced. Because they can't deny the effect the video intended - it was the reason they demanded he watch it.

Years ago when I was a supervisor, they started advising supervisors to get insurance in case we got sued over something. I got a job that didn’t include any supervisory functions.
