When asked his opinion on Boko Haram, Johnson replied that he always loved their recording of “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”
Hmmmm... maybe it’s not a bad idea after all to have Johnson on the debate stage.....
Uhhhhh
Pass the fritos, man
He may be a complete fraud as a libertarian but he’s apparently got more $$$$ for ads than Hilliary and trump combined. Something extremely strange here
I know a lot about Syria’s geography and the evolution of the civil war that Obama stirred up in Syria, and in particular, I know a lot about Aleppo. However, I do not see that as a reasonable question for a presidential candidate. I want to know how a president will deal with the big picture, not how he (she?) will address minutia.
The fact that so many on this thread are ready to give Johnson a pass on this only makes more obvious our national ineptitude for foreign affairs. As a country we are not interested in the rest of the world — which is why we should stay home and not try to run it.
Here’s how he should have responded...
Q: What’s a Leppo?
A: It’s a big cat with spots.
Not a gotcha. Syria is relevant to our national interest. Gary is an idiot and this was the kind of implosion the media has wanted Trump to have.
Dear Free Republic,
You MUST know about Aleppo. Do a search for it in FR, at the very least.
Aleppo is our current “WMD Moment”. Aleppo is where weapons for the Middle east have been made for decades. In fact, in 2013 many people witnessing an explosion swear it was nuked.
Recently Aleppo was invaded and the word “Tactical Nuke” was used again. Syria has been making chemical weapons outside Aleppo for many decades.
With the cooperation of Iran and the involvement of Turkey and Russia it is now likely that WMD are in the hands of ISIS and Iran.
Aleppo is VERY important and not only should every presidential candidate know about it inside and out, but FR should as well.
I’ve been rather disappointed by the FR responses these past couple days. Aleppo is at the heart of global conflict right now.
Who is Ben Ghazi?
