Texas newspaper endorses first Democrat for president in 75 years

The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday endorsed Hillary Clinton, backing a Democratic presidential hopeful for the first time since FDR.

“There is only one serious candidate on the presidential ballot in November: We recommend Hillary Clinton,” the paper’s editorial board declared.

“We don’t come to this decision easily. This newspaper has not recommended a Democrat for this nation’s highest since before World War II – if you’re counting, that’s more than 75 years and nearly 20 elections.”

The newspaper touted Clinton’s government experience and said she’s demonstrated an ability to work with Republicans.

“Resume vs. resume, judgment vs. judgment, this election is no contest,” the paper said of Clinton in comparison to GOP nominee Donald Trump.

On September 6, 2016, the editorial board of The Dallas Morning News declined to endorse the 2016 Republican nominee, Donald Trump, in an editorial titled “Donald Trump is no Republican.”

Maybe they missed the fact that neither is Hillary.

an editorial titled “Donald Trump is no Republican.”

Well, in this context, I get it. They want someone from the GOP(e), Trump ain't it.

Problem is, there's not a nickels worth of difference between Dems and the GOP(e). People know it. That's why Trump has a ton of support.

If I can climb on my soapbox briefly, I think we're seeing the beginning of a 3rd party here in America. Radical Left (Bernie Supporters), Radical Right (Conservatives), and Uniparty (Hillary, Jeb, Kasich). Only reason we don't have that on the ballot this year is because the infrastructure doesn't exist yet.

I'll bet that there will be 3 "mainstream" candidates on the ballot for president in 2020.

The mayor of Dallas is a Boston College-educated liberal not unlike you’d find in the liberal New England. Sadly, I know a lot of conservative guys in Massachusetts who keep their hopes alive by plotting their eventual escape to Texas.

“But unlike Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has experience in actual governance, a record of service and a willingness to delve into real policy.”

But unlike Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has experience in complete failure in governance and a willingness to lie to cover up the failures of her policies. Not to mention the chicanery, trickery, corruption, sedition she routinely engages in. Or her adherence to Alinsky’s rules for radicals.

Hilarious! They break a 75-year streak for Hillary Clinton???

It is funny.

Don't know the average age of the Editorial Board but this kind of writing and thinking speaks to me of high-school intern or junior college dropout.

A profoundly unsophisticated editorial.

“The Dallas Morning News demonstrates its value is that of used toilet paper.”

I disagree. Used toilet paper at least served a purpose.

I have no doubt that the Houston Comical will do the same! They always endorse the liberal democrat for every office. The only reason I still subscribe is the letters to the editor and because they tell me who NOT to vote for!

The Dallas Morning News is so liberal, I’m thinking about canceling my subscription but I like the habit of reading the paper. Their writers are so liberal it’s just pathetic. The MSM is trying to act like this is a shock having no idea. They rarely publish anything about Hillary’s crimes so their liberal readers are very uninformed.

I wonder if they will change their tune after the next installment of the Assange leaks. One would think that the release of the FBI documents on Friday would have resulted in at least no endorsement for Hillary, Trump aside. I guess corruption is a better choice for these idiots.

The timing is interesting. A clear attempt to bolster Hillary who is falling in the polls.

The idea of a viable 3rd party certainly seems more likely now than ever, but people that tend to reject the 2 main parties are all over the place in their ideas. If we actually had an informed electorate, the Dem party would be on its’ death bed by now.

Trump does not buy ads.
Hillary buys adds
Dallas Newspaper is dependent on ads
Dallas Newspapwer endorses Hillary

The legacy media has to stop new tech.

It is the “equalization of opportunity act”

was watching something or another on blue/red states last week, and Texas is predicted to go blue by 2018 by demographic, and is said to be surely blue by 2020.

I am pretty sure it was the Rasmussen guy on Fox, but I could be mistaken.

We have an informed electorate.

To quote the Great One, “It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.”

;-) Remember that libs pretend. And, it's easier to pretend than it is to deal with reality.

Quickly becoming Austin.

Look at the refugees they’ve taken in....and, their Mayor who said he was more afraid of white terrorists than Syrian refugees.

The Judge who personally visited and transported the Ebola afflicted family....who happened to be the same guy promoting housing of the unaccompanied *migrant* *children*.

Hmmmm.....maybe even worse than Austin.
