In a poll done specifically on the “shyness” issue, Rasmussen Reports found that 17 percent of likely Republican voters will not tell people who they are supporting.

And I think conservatives are far less likely to answer the phone if it's an unknown number. Unknown pops up on my cell phone, and they either leave a message or they don't. I'm not answering. If they don't leave a message then I know they're probably not important.
