I didn’t know the specifics, thanks HTR.
Even if Christians mean well, if they engage in underhanded or dishonorable tactics, that would be un-Christian. Christians shouldn’t have to sin to further what they believe is God’s agenda. I can’t see God honoring those types of actions, whatever they were.
I hope this lady protected her organization from evil doers of any flavor. Knowing how savvy she was, and what the fight they made her endure, I feel certain she must have taken whatever appropriate measures necessary to protect her Eagle Forum.
She fought the good fight for conservatism for so many years. RIP!
>>This could mean that they meant well, but they did not understand what God was doing.

Possibly. But if it is truly God’s Will, one shouldn’t have to engage in dishonorable behavior....but, again, I don’t know the specifics...just that this dear lady had to deal with some strong unpleasantness in her last months. And, I am reminded of the saying “The road to hell is paved with Good Intentions”.
Sometimes God has to set people straight who think they have the right plan, but aren’t looking at or listening to what God is actually planning — such as when David of the Old Testament proposed to build a temple of wood. God was going to provide for that — but it was Solomon who would build it, because David had too much of a bloody reputation. So David laid up supplies for his son, who did the good work.
My husband just told me, and I was so sorry she did not live to see Trump elected. And then I said those tards at that organization that gave her a hard time and likely stressed her some need to be slapped upside the head . A lot. RIP.
Some people think the will of God is to outwardly conform to a lot of rules, and other people believe the will of God is to inwardly listen to His heart and follow as best as possible, in a manner that will improve with time until perfected in heaven. It’s the classic difference between believing and “a form of religion that denies its power.”
I think events will thus “slap” them, as they see a wonderful work of God that is not built upon the will of man, but on the will of God. Just watch the hand of God on Donald’s life. If we think we’ve seen encouraging things now, we haven’t even begun to see them. I believe Donald will end up an amazing witness of God, and by God’s plan and not Donald’s plan at all.
Truly a sad day.
Mrs. Schlafly was an inspiration.
She fought the good fight, held her ground, and won.
And what is more, she kept a genuine view of God. She realized that a work of God would have to be initiated from heaven, and could not be forced by man. At best, men could invite it.
These are profound thoughts, HTR. I need to read and re-read them and let their meaning sink in.
I think that acting in a dishonorable or underhanded manner isn’t really necessary or good, if we truly trust God. Others who may witness this un-Christian behavior may well find it a stumbling block to their own search for God.
Watch that lowlife Cruz mention her passing. She despised him for the way he treated Trump. She at first said good things about Crux, then when he stabbed Trump in the bank she lost whatever use she had for him. She said all republicans had to come together. She hated RINOs with a passion. She especially disliked Romney and had no use whatsoever for George Will.
Sad to hear. Maybe she can help from up there. RIP.
Wow, DJT’s statement is so perfectly worded and powerful.
I love how he took the opportunity to once again make it clear the battle we fight is against the evil Global forces that have robbed our nation of its sovereignty.
Thank you, Mr. Trump, for a beautiful statement of remembrance for this amazing Christian lady. Onward Christian Soldiers!
Sometimes we are so dull that we don’t even know what Christian or other behavior is, until we do the wrong thing and see the consequences.
This to me is par for the course in the earthly presence of the kingdom of heaven. While here, we are not yet complete, and we are still students of the Savior.
I pray that the naysayers will be amazed by the grace of God.
She was there for Barry Goldwater in 1964.
But her greatest moments would come in the 1970’s with her legendary opposition to the Equal Rights Amendment, challenging Nixon, Ford and Carter who supported it.
Phyllis was all over the mainstream media of the day like daytime talk shows.
She looked good and established herself a place in history, becoming a fixture on the ‘Most Admired Woman’ list for many years to come.
She was the female equivalent of William F. Buckley.
Bravo, Phyllis.
Thank you very much for your many words of spiritual wisdom.
The GOP ideals were by no means perfect, and yet they were the most promising forum around on our political scene to make a path for a righteous revival. There was a whole lot less to fix on the GOP side than there was on the Democrat side. But the GOP got so full of itself.
God has to remind us that He can work through unexpected ways, whether through a Kim Davis or through a Donald Trump, both of whom bucked their respective parties’ status quo for the better, and both of whom yet had much more to learn.
I can only thank the Lord who made it possible for me to see more of what He wants than I used to understand. God has an amazing way of working through peace and kindness. It is we, not God, who so often are unnecessarily belligerent and cruel, sometimes even excusing that with the bible when we have never really given it a genuine test.
I have had a life that has seen much woe because of such failures. God never said thou shalt be selfish. The serpent did, and to our shame, we agreed.
Ain’t it funny how the lefties who would iron away the differences between men and women on one hand (and still are trying it in different ways) are crying for “diversity” on the other hand.
Some day they may understand that they had treasure and just mucked it up.
