This wouldn’t go over very well in bankrupt Greece. It’s a true lose/lose for everyone.

Gee Whiz-—you beat me to it. Yesterday an older friend, and I am 81, pointed out sadly that, “AGAIN, Germany is at the heart of a new chaos in Europe. Last time WE had to square it away and I’m the only one of my unit that came home.
He sighed and muttered, “Please, not a third time.”

Umm.. the last time that happened, Germany took all of mainland Greece in around 20 days, with minimal casualties. It went just fine for the Germans (except on Crete) until those pesky Americans and British pushed them out a few years later.
