I wonder what would have happened if he gave them a $1 coin :) They’re probably not aware that those exist.
How old were these officers? Bad enough the school is clueless, but the police officers?
Maybe but those may be more common. Maybe there are vending machines in the school cafeteria and they can give out dollar coins as change. Sometimes at my workplace I'll put in $1.60 or something, all in coins for a soda but not including a dollar coin. If the machine is totally sold out when I press the button (there are no lights to indicate what's sold out) I get my $1.60 back but this time it includes a dollar coin.
