I do not want my car damaged so a few people can get rich.
You like corn oil? citric acid? Lysine? Gluten? No sugar, none of that...
The argument was a subsidy for fuel additive that has no benefit that stands in its own. Not even beneficial - to an engine
Your diversions with other by products, products or subsidies doesn’t mean much in this regard.
I had the opportunity to ride in a brand new 65 tri-power coupe when I was 12. It was maroon, 4-speed, black interior and vinyl top. It was the first car I rode over 100 mph in. Classic American muscle at its best!
It means EVERYTHING. Should the government have entered the fuel market and wrecked equilibrium in the first place - no! But they did and now you have wet mills everywhere and farmers growing corn everywhere - and there are new markets and clearing prices in all the corn products. Then you have the EPA oxygenates mandates. You cant use MTBE. Talking about killing ethanol at this point would involve unwinding agricultural, food, fuel, environmental, auto parts and chemicals markets. We can agree it should never have happened but it did. And ethanol is the least, the very least, a mere pimple, of America’s problems. Having wrecked a market once, you’re advocating wrecking it again. All because someone doesn’t have to pay taxes.
There is no such thing as “too big to fail” which is what you’re saying with “don’t touch ethanol.” You believe it how you want, but I’m not gonna buy it.
