I’ve always loved the idea of cutting off, or highly taxing, U.S. dollars being sent back to Mexico. That would be effective, I think.

Here’s my general rant, but not directed at you, Nikos. :)

They ARE criminals simply by being here. I think you DO need to deport those who are here illegally, not “INVITE them to leave and come back”.

Who the hell do they think they are, anyhow, sneaking into America while decent people in their home country are waiting to do it the right way? They may not have robbed liquor stores, but they do use our healthcare, our schools, our Social Security, our infrastructure, etc. — and WE foot the bill.

Their selfish demands require double staffing in schools for Hispanic speaking teachers. We’re paying for it. Their selfish demands result in government publications to be twice as long, and we’re paying for THAT. When voting, Espanol ballots must be provided. It goes on and on. We’re paying for that. Couldn’t that money be used to provide better lives for American children instead of coddling criminals?

They are negatively impacting Americans in a passive-aggressive way. It would almost be tolerable if they had enough simple respect to just LTFL. I’ve had people DEMAND that I speak to them in Spanish when I worked in HR, at which point I slammed the receiver onto the phone. The gall!

If they have kids, even born here, they need to go back with their parents. I believe, as do others, that the 14th Amendment ALLOWS, but does not require, children of illegal immigrants to receive citizenship just by virtue of having been born on American soil. It’s sad for kids, but the parents knew they were involving their children in illegal activity when they gave birth to them here. It would be called child neglect if they involved a kid in any other crime. Their problem; not ours.

I lived in California for several years. In emergency rooms, the illegals were treated first, and free. The rest of us — the ones paying for their treatment — waited. The omnipresence of un-assimilated, ungrateful, entitled immigrants — not just Mexican — was a blight on the overall community.

My most wonderful and dearest friend is Hispanic, and she agrees with me.
