The s at the end of challengers is quite likely part of the problem. A problem that occurs all too often in Tennessee, and other GOP elections. There always seems to be extra bodies to dilute the opposition vote.

Perhaps somebody from Arizona could fill us in on why? Dunno about the rest of Arizona, but me brother that lives in south AZ says Tucson is known as the San Fagsicko of Arizona. Take that for what it is worth.
Southern AZ is apparently rather liberal, from Mexican illegals or what, no idea.
