IIRC, the Broncos demanded a pay cut of something like 50% that either CK or the 49er's would have to eat. Still, the way this preseason has played out CK would have lost the job to Trevor Siemian and would have been cut.

The next few days will be interesting. I can't believe the 49er's have much appetite for his cap hit, especially after this.
