The arrogance of hypocrites continues to amaze me......You're not "Assured" of anything my friend, only God makes that determination.............He's the final judge, not YOU unless you have a buddy line to Him and what He has in store for you. Which I doubt........LOL!
What you call arrogance, I call faith.
Faith in the words that God gave us, that faith in Christ alone would give us peace with God and guarantee our eternity.
You are absolutely right that God makes the determination. But he has already given us the requirements.
Either a perfectly sinless life, which he says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God".
Or “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."
I believe that Jesus is the Son and I'm putting my faith in Gods promise.
Hypocrite: a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs.
I'll admit, sometimes I act outside of my beliefs. It's not something I want to continually do. So I work to try and change the way I think and act. I'm not, nor is any other Christian, perfect...and none of us claim to be.
You mock about having a "buddy line" but the Bible, where I get my belief in God tells me "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,"
The Bible says about his children.
