He co-created Get Smart with Mel Brooks. Was a writer for Steve Allen before that.
He also created "Captain Nice" and "Quark." Anyone besides me remember them?

I remember Captain Nice. Funny show, but I was 6 or 7 at the time.
I do remember that William Daniels was “Captain Nice”.
Any one ever see Gene’s “Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother”?

He also created "Captain Nice" and "Quark." Anyone besides me remember them? I do remember Quark. It left quite an impression, for being so short-lived. It was a mixture of sci-fi, satire and the Doublemint Twins - I couldn't dislike it if i tried!

Quark was completely funny! A garbage scow captain show.
