Agree with you. Rio crooked cops lied and yes the athletes were held up - twice in fact. First at the station at gunpoint and second while in custody with threat of prison, loss of freedom. Nice shake down by Rio cops...$11K. ;)

And American media simply repeated the talking points given them by the Rio police. American media did not make any effort to question the official narrative.

Thankfully those two USA Today reporters checked the claims of the Rio police department and demonstrated that the Rio police were lying.
