You are making a lot of excuses and stories for this adult and responsible man

I am just pointing out, we actually know nothing of factual information and busting up a poster and paying $400 seems like robbery to Lochte, well, he should have thought of that before he did it. But then again, he was too drunk to think strait.

Remember, the gas station owner did not ask for Lochte to stop by and do “improvements” to his station. Nor was he hired to do this unauthorized work. The story is all he said/she said and to me the truth is somewhere in the middle.

At the end, Lochte is a moron and should have been smart enough to not put himself in this situation in the first place. I originally believe Lochte’s story and was disappointed of his actions, this is not how an athlete from our country should behave in a foreign host country. He should be ashamed of himself for his actions. I don’t care how much the poster or sign was worth or if a soap disk was busted or not. At the end of the day, they should have never ever had put themselves in that position. And never done petty vandalism either.

Best thing for lochte to have done early on, tell the truth and apologized (even if he thought it wasn’t 100% his fault) and moved on and this would have died down weeks ago.

You regard an appeal to accurate and provable truth tantamount to making excuses for a man?

I am just pointing out, we actually know nothing of factual information and busting up a poster and paying $400 seems like robbery to Lochte, well, he should have thought of that before he did it. But then again, he was too drunk to think strait.

Let me reiterate something of which I already expected an adult and responsible man to be aware. Once you have proven that someone has lied about a significant and relevant point, you can no longer trust any further thing they have said on the matter.

It has been established that the Rio police lied. These claims you are now making, came from the Rio police. We have no idea if any of them are true.

We do not know if they were stopped by four Rio police officers guarding a gas station in the middle of the night (do you not get how silly it sounds that they would have four armed police officers guarding a gas station in the middle of the night?) because Lochte had damaged the poster or not.

*THEY* say so, and they have been proven to lie.

We do not know if the owner received any money at all. For all we know the $400.00 was split among the 4 off duty Rio police officers who were guarding a gas station in the middle of the night.

That $400.00 number is kinda odd isn't it? 4 Rio police officers. $400.00 dollars. Kinda divides out evenly, doesn't it?

But you still keep wanting to make this about Lochte (what did the other guys do? Did they vandalize posters too?) Instead of the fact that so many of you rushed to judgement to unfairly condemn what appears to be a man accused of a crime he didn't do.

That, and a willingness to gloat about the misfortune of another man of which some of you are apparently envious.

Again, I expected Freepers to be better people than that.
