You may be right. However, consider the three hour address that John Galt delivered to the nation. He spoke eloquently on his ideals, his philosophy. If you read the novel, you would also know that Galt double-majored in physics and philosophy, two disciplines that require extraordinary levels of reading and study.

In that regard, Galt must have been a voracious reader.
