I bet the decision to fire warning shots instead of sinking them came from the top banana.

The official said the Nitze was ultimately forced to change its course to avoid the Iranian ships, despite coming close to offshore oil rigs.

Unbelievable. They risk an oil spill to "accommodate" the Iranian harassers. At least the 2nd go, they fired on the Iranian ships.

I'm not that familiar with the geography but if Iran holds the Straits of Hormuz, do they control a great deal of the oil flow to the rest of the world?

“Unsafe and unprofessional”.

Are you f!@#$%^ kidding me?

Their first response should have been to send these sabre-rattlers straight to,the bottom.

But that isn’t going to happen seeing as how obama is so buddy-buddy with the ayatollahs over their.

Hell, he’s even flying in plane loads of cash to them, he likes them that much.

at an Iranian ship that sailed...

It "sailed"? Are they trying to paint a picture of an Iranian Skiff (made of paper) or perhaps an Iranian "ship of the line"?

At some point the Iranians will find out that they shouldn’t be buying their naval ships from BassPro.

Must have been the lowest bidder or sumthin’.

I thought Iran was or friend now that our president had normalized relations with them?

The Iranians want a Naval incident. I think they are after a carrier. If Hillary wins they can take their time before attacking and sinking a carrier. They know she will do nothing. If they hurry up and attack before the clown leaves office-(if he does.) it is a guarantee that nothing will be done in retaliation. A dangerous period is upon us.

The American skippers should remember that it was one of those PT boats loaded with explosives that destroyed that Navy ship in the port of Aden in Yemen some years ago. It can happen again.

Well it was a close call for the Iranian boats not our warship.

THIS WHOLE THING IS JUST STUPID!

While our policy is unlikely to change, the correct action in such an Iranian provocation would be to go all in on Iran.

The entire ME is only where it is because of oil money, weapons sales, political correctness, and greed.

Political Correctness and power hungry and greedy politicians have created a truly violent and bloody future for all of us.

To help stem this, we need to act with truly decisive and extreme prejudice.

We should not even give Iran another warning.

Beside harassing us daily, Iran and their navy have also taken US hostages.

This has been happening in the midst of our current administration giving Iran the green light on (soon to be) nuclear weapons (thanks to Russia), AND freeing up between $154-$200 Billion dollars!

While our US Navy hostages were given back, and we paid $400,000,000 for our most recent hostages, they have taken new American hostages, having never given up our retired FBI hostage they have been holding for years!

They also continue to support with weapons and cash, many terrorist organizations. This includes Hezbollah, which has assassinated the late leader of Lebanon, and continues to be behind weapons smuggling to Hamas, and attacks on Israel.

How many civilians around the world need to die or be enslaved in the future, before Iran and it foreign military organizations are destroyed?

Iran has threatened and supported attacks on almost all of its neighbors in the region!

While Wahhabism from Saudi Arabia also has a long history of extreme violence and is growing around the world, Iran has also long been harassing everyone and behind killing people throughout the region.

If they harass us again, we should take out their entire Navy. All of it! At the same time! Nothing left! It should be extreme and swift. No chance for retaliation or international interference. All ships, boats, and subs redundantly targeted and sunk simultaneously. No further warnings, as this would raise the specter of foreign interference.

Then the Iranian navy would not be able to do anything in the Strait of Hormuz, or to any other entity in the region, for a long time.

Actually, all Iranian command and control, air traffic control, radar and SAM locations should also be destroyed simultaneously at the same time as their navy.

This would set the Iranian government and economy back for years, break their government financially, send a message to everyone else in the ME, and likely result in a much safer and easily transient Persian Gulf for the immediate future. It would also likely relieve significant pressure on our Navy and allow us to focus on other areas of growing danger. If a war does develop between us and Russia or China in the next several years, not having to deal with Iran could potentially be that much less to divide our attention.

Yah, there would be a great cry from around the world, but this would also send a message to the rest of the world, that we are not going to fight as chained slaves as we have since WWII, with our hands and feet chained by deadly political correctness any longer.

AND WE ARE NOT interested in NATION BUILDING!

Russia and China would be loudest. These countries would be our biggest problem by far. This is why we should just go all in on Iran with extreme prejudice and extreme speed. We cannot give them time to organize.

By doing this, it could either galvanize the Iranian population against us, or it could potentially force a real regime change, as there are many Iranians who are fed up with the deadly and authoritarian regime they have had.
