Donald Trump laid out new details in a pre-taped interview that aired Wednesday about the border wall he has called to be built on the U.S.-Mexico border.
"I think the height could be 35 to 45 feet. That's a good height. That's a good height. Anywhere in that neighborhood. Could be higher," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity during the second part of an Austin, Texas, town hall.
The Republican nominee said he plans to install a fence along 1,000 miles of the 2,000-mile border because only that portion needs to be reinforced.
Trump said the current border allows drug cartels to bring drugs into the U.S. and take their money back out with them.
If it’s a fence and not an actual wall, there is metal fence material whose openings are too small for toe or foot holds. Billowing razor wire should greet those few who scale its 40 feet. Perhaps a non-lethal electric current should also be present 24/7. The foundation must be deep and of reinforced concrete. It will be expensive, but don’t fret, Mexico will pay for it.
I never checked where it came from but it always made me feel happy inside.:)
Anyhow, backtracked and found it is originally from this site. “Largest wall in northern hemisphere.”

I’ve got two words:
Eminent domain. If there is a good use for E.D., this is it.
see post #63.
You’re a troll. Lying. He said this:
SH: Is there any part of the law that you might be able to change that would accommodate those people that contribute to society, have been law abiding, have kids here. Would there be any room in your mind, because I know you had a meeting with hispanic leaders...
DT: I did. I had a meeting with some great people, great hispanic leaders, and there certainly can be a softening because we’re not looking to hurt people, we want people....we have some great people in this country. We have some great, great people in this country. BUT, WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW THE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY. WHAT PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE IS THAT WE HAVE VERY, VERY STRONG LAWS....PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT.
SH: Yeah, but Obama does not follow them....
DT: That’s right, they don’t follow them, BUT WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW THE LAWS
No rusty spikes to fall on.
And here are some current laws that Trump has emphasized over and over WILL be enforced:
Per current law, illegals are required to be deported. Once deported, illegals are subject to the following 3 year, 10 year and permanent ban on legal re-entry via a green card:
a) If you lived illegally in the US for over 180 days and then left, youre banned from returning legally with a green card for at least 3 years.
b) If you lived illegally in the US for over year and then left, youre banned from retuning legally with a green card for at least 10 years.
c) If you lived illegally in the US for over year, left and then attempted to re-enter illegally or were successful in reentering illegally, youre permanently banned from re-entry via a green card.
d) If you were ordered removed, left and then attempted to re-enter illegally or were successful in reentering illegally, youre permanently banned from re-entry via a green card.
No sharks with laser beams attached to their heads :(
I still expect a lot of landowners will hold out for more money and litigation may take 12 to 18 months or so.
Assuming they aren’t sick of wet backs running through their yard each night.
We need to be realists. You really dont think that a wall would do along the Rio Grande do you? Although not impossible, they would have to consider floods a all that, which weakens the foundations. Half that river is ours and there is no way possible to put the wall in the middle of that river.
Then comes the canyons and such.
To make a prefab concrete sheet about 35’ x 24’ at around 2’ thick would cost around 8k a sheet. The sheets alone would be about 2 million a mile. Probably about 4-5 million with labor and accessory items.
So if we tax Mexico at 10% of their remittances, we’d only get enough to build 500 miles or so of wall, a year.
No rusty spikes to fall on.
IF they would survive the 130 ft drop i think they should get instant citizenship.
Otherwise, did you notice the metal rods at the top. :)
It borders Mexico at San Diego.

The electric fence?
