I know when Priebus spoke up, and what he said, and also have a pretty good idea of the scope of determined Trump opposition (both open and hidden) in the bowels of the party.

My point was that the party isn't MIA, contrary to the premise of the OP. And as you point out, the party is fractured, with the Bush wing being in open revolt against Trump, and the usual duplicitous suspects like McCain and McConnell. Nobody can unite the party, and that is a good thing. One wing or the other is going to prevail.
