Lochte said he was wrong and that he made it up. There’s not a lot more to write about after that. With his friends and teammates being held for Ransom by the Corrupt Brazilian police Department/Government.
I would have told them "I was the second gunman on the grassy knoll" if that's what it took to get them to release their hostages.
In the USA, we do not accept coerced confessions or testimony. We do not accept it because people will lie to make the pain or threat go away.
